Five soccer teams from DeKalb County are a step closer to a state championship.
Decatur boys, Marist boys and girls, Paideia boys and St. Pius X girls soccer teams advanced to the Final Four of the soccer state playoffs in their respective classifications.
All teams played their Final Four matchup May 8, and scores were not available by press time.
The Decatur Bulldogs advanced to the Class AAAAA Final Four after beating Whitewater 2-0 in the Elite Eight. Decatur hosted McIntosh in the Final Four.
In Class AAAA, a 9-0 victory over Richmond Academy sent the Marist War Eagles to the boys Final Four to take on Northwest Whitfield. Marist girls advanced to the Final Four after a 3-0 win over Northside-Columbus, and they faced Spalding in the Final Four.
After a 6-0 win over Woodward Academy, St. Pius faced Blessed Trinity in the Final Four.
Paideia advanced to the Class A Final Four after a 3-1 win over St. Anne-Pacelli. Paideia took on Whitefield Academy in the Final Four.
