A special message to our legal advertising clients
In the 2023 session of the Georgia General Assembly, HB254 was passed. It was signed by Gov. Brian Kemp on May 3. HB254 includes an amendment to O.C.G.A. § 9-13-143(a) changing the rates for legal advertisements from $10.00 per 100 words to not more than $15.00 per 100 words for each insertion and for the first four insertions. After that, each insertion shall be charged at the rate of $14.00 per 100 words. If an ad contains fractional parts of 100 words, it shall be charged at the same rate as for 100 words.
The new legal advertising rates will apply to all legal notices submitted to publish after July 1, 2023, in every legal organ newspaper in Georgia. This is the first time in more than 25 years that Georgia’s legal organ newspapers have had a legal advertising rate increase.
