Chamblee continues stacking gymnastics titles

Chamblee High School’s Lady Bulldogs gymnastic teams won its third DeKalb County School District (DCSD) County Gymnastics title in the past four years in the recent event at Dunwoody High School.

Chamblee gymnasts Sarah Wolf and Samantha Yarbrough finished first and second in the all-around portion of the competition to lead Chamblee to the top of the podium.

Wolf—a senior—returned to competition this year, after missing in 2023, to take first place in the bars (8.150), floor (9.050), and in the all-around (34.950) to run her county championships gold medal haul to nine in three years of competition. She also has three silver medals, including the all-around as a freshman, and one bronze.

Yarbrough captured gold in the vault (9.250), while finishing fourth in the floor (8.150), and fifth in the bars (7.350) and the beam (7.900) on the way to the silver in the all-around (32.650) behind Wolf.

The 2023 champion Dunwoody Lady Wildcats finished as the runner-up in 2024 with a score of 90.250, led by Tabitha Johnson’s third place finish in the all-around (30.900). Johnson finished tied for the bronze in the vault (8.700), was third in the floor (8.250), and fourth on the bars (7.400).

Keirsten Lewis fueled Lakeside’s third place finish in the team standings (87.050) with her fourth-place finish in the all-around (27.350).  Lily Lewis aided the Vikings’ with a silver medal in the bars (8.100).

Druid Hills finished fourth overall in the team standings (85.250) behind Makayla Turk’s gold in the beam (9.100) and silver in the floor (9.000). Sydney Willingham added a silver in the vault (8.800) and a bronze in the beam (8.450) for Druid Hills.
