Chamblee unveils new Real-Time Crime Center

Chamblee Police Department (CPD) unveiled its new Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC), a facility designed to enhance public safety through technology, data-driven policing, and real-time intelligence, according to officials.

The RTCC will serve as a centralized hub where officers and neighboring agencies can monitor live camera feeds, analyze data, and share critical information in real time to support patrol officers and investigators in the field. Officials say the center will help reduce response times and improve the efficiency of investigations.

According to CPD, demolition and construction of the facility began in August 2025. The city invested approximately $2 million in the center’s construction and technology.

“The Real-Time Crime Center represents a major investment in the safety of our community,” said Chamblee Police Chief Michael Dieppa. “This technology allows our officers to make informed decisions quickly, helping us prevent crime, solve cases, and keep residents and businesses safe.”

The state-of-the-art facility features a video wall with three large screens and eight workstations, each equipped with a computer and three monitors. Adjacent to the intelligence room is a conference room that can seat up to 12 people.

With the new center, CPD now has access to more than 200 cameras across the city, including fixed, panoramic, and license plate reader cameras. The department can also access cameras from neighboring cities such as Dunwoody, Brookhaven, and Doraville.

Officials say the community can further support the RTCC by allowing CPD access to security cameras from local businesses, which can help officers respond more quickly and conduct investigations more efficiently.

In addition to the RTCC, CPD also built a new defense tactics room where officers can train and practice safer, more effective techniques when dealing with suspects.

“This center is about using smart, responsible technology to support our officers and better serve our residents,” said Chamblee Mayor Brian Mock. “It strengthens our ability to respond to emergencies while reinforcing our commitment to transparency and accountability.”
