Hannah Robertson, 2024 graduate of DeKalb School of the Arts, will travel to Mobile, Alabama, to participate in in the 67th Distinguished Young Women National Finals on June 27-29 at Mobile Civic Center Theater.

A news release states that Robertson is one of 50 representatives competing for more than $150,000 in cash scholarships and the opportunity to represent the program as the Distinguished Young Woman of America for 2024.

“We are excited to welcome the 50 outstanding state representatives to Mobile for the 67th annual National Finals of Distinguished Young Women,” said Executive Director Carole Hegwood in a Distinguished Young Women press release. “These young women are accomplished, talented, intelligent, and have excited futures ahead of them.”

Following her selection as the Distinguished Young Woman of Georgia, Robertson will begin preparations for National Finals, which will include five different categories: scholastic, interview, fitness, talent, and self-expression. During her two weeks in Mobile, Robertson is scheduled to participate in team building activities, complete community service projects, interact with the Gulf Coast community through events, and engage in rehearsals in preparation for the scholarship program.

If selected as the program’s overall winner, Robertson will spend the next year representing Distinguished Young Women across the country through various appearances and promoting the program’s national outreach initiative Be Your Best Self.

According to the press release, this outreach program is designed to combat major issues facing children today including childhood obesity and high school dropout rates, as well as encourage young people to take an active interest in their communities through service.
