Don’t kiss off Valentine’s Day

Making your love’s heart flutter and pulse quicken are often not easy tasks. On Valentine’s Day the stakes are higher and making the day or night a success requires careful thought and planning. The day of love, Feb. 14, is right around the corner; to help those short on ideas we’ve compiled a list of an assortment of things to do. Cupid’s Ball

Joe Gransden’s Valentine’s Quintet
Joe Gransden’s band will perform “seductive sounds of Sinatra, Bennett, Connick and more” on Feb. 12 at Napoleon’s in Decatur. Valentine’s Day Paint and Sip
Couples can create something colorful while enjoying libations at this Valentine’s Day Paint and Sip. The two-hour sip and paint session includes live poetry. “We will be painting Valentine’s themed art,” states the event’s website. Event begins at 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at 1781 Columbia Drive, Decatur. Kids Valentine’s Day Party
Don’t forget about the younger set. From 5 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 12 children 4 to 12 are invited to take part in a youth Valentine’s party while parents can enjoy a night out. At the party, children can create, dance, play games and eat dinner. The Ultimate Black Sip and Shop
The Ultimate Black Sip and Shop at the New Black Wall Street Market in Stonecrest is set for Feb. 12 and 13.
This event is billed as celebrating “Black love and social economics.”
“Lovers and friends can enjoy shopping for the perfect valentines’ gifts, while sampling delicious black owned beers, wines and spirits from across the country.” Food and dessert options are available in the food court. Southern Soul and R&B Happy Valentines Day Dance

Lovebirds Valentine’s Day Bird Walk
Birds have a number of ways they show affection–singing songs, dancing, showing off their colors. Head to the Dunwoody Nature Center on Valentine’s Day weekend for a closer look at these animals. “Did you know some birds mate for life?
