Dunwoody, Marist, St. Pius move on to volleyball quarterfinals

It was a triple sweep as Dunwoody, Marist and St. Pius advanced to the volleyball playoffs quarterfinals in its respective classification.

The No. 2 Dunwoody Lady Wildcats swept Starr’s Mill 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-11) in the Class AAAAA state playoffs Oct. 21 at home. This is Dunwoody’s second consecutive trip to the quarterfinals.

Dunwoody will host Camden County in the quarterfinals Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.

No. 2 Marist swept Whitewater 3-0 in the Class AAAA state playoffs Oct. 21 at home. Marist dominated the first two sets, winning 25-10 and 25-7. Whitewater put up a fight in the third set, but Marist pulled it out 25-21.

Marist will host North Oconee Oct. 25.

No. 5 St. Pius also dominated in its second round matchup Oct. 21 in the Class AAAA playoffs. They swept Carrollton 3-0 (25-10, 25-9, 25-12). 

St. Pius will head to Buford Oct. 25 in the quarterfinals. The match begins at 7 p.m.
