Dunwoody to hold open house

City of Dunwoody officials will hold an open house for the Georgetown Small Area Plan from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Jan. 21 at the N. Shallowford Annex, 4470 N. Shallowford Road.

Developed in partnership with Atlanta-based planning and engineering firms TSW and Kimley-Horn, the Georgetown Small Area Plan builds on the city’s recently adopted Comprehensive Plan, according to a news release.

“The plan will provide a clear, actionable framework for guiding future development, enhancing mobility –whether by foot, bike, transit, or car—and strengthening placemaking in the Georgetown community,” said Dunwoody Community Development Director Richard McLeod. “The vision is a more attractive, connected community with a strong sense of identity.”

In Dunwoody, Georgetown is the area bordered by Chamblee-Dunwoody Road to the west, Cotillion Drive to the south, Peachford Road to the east, and Brook Run Park to the north. It includes N. Shallowford Road and Dunwoody Park. At the open house, attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Review findings from the existing conditions analysis
  • Explore proposed improvements and draft development guidance
  • Participate in interactive activities to share feedback and help prioritize recommendations

The event will be drop-in style with informational boards and hands-on activities but no formal presentation, allowing participants to explore at their own pace, according to a news release. City officials added that community input will play a vital role in refining the plan’s recommendations and shaping its implementation strategy.
