Early voting locations announced throughout DeKalb

Locations for early voting, as well as key dates and other details, have been released by officials with the DeKalb Voter Registration and Elections Office (VRE) ahead of the Nov. 4 General Election, during which voters will cast ballots in mayoral races for Atlanta, Chamblee, Clarkston, Stone Mountain and Tucker along with several city council races throughout the county.

During a recent meeting, the DeKalb Board of Registration and Elections (BRE) approved 10 early voting locations across the county, including six locations equipped with official absentee ballot drop boxes.

Early voting locations include:

Berean Christian Church, 2201 Young Road, Stone Mountain.
Bessie Branham Recreation Center, 2051 Delano Drive, NE, Atlanta.
Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, 2340 Clifton Springs Road, Decatur.
DeKalb VRE Office, 4380 Memorial Drive, Suite 500, Decatur.
Dunwoody Library, 5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody.
Emory University, 1599 Clifton Road, Atlanta.
New Bethel AME Church, 8350 Rockbridge Road, SW, Lithonia.
North DeKalb Senior Center, 3393 Malone Drive, Chamblee.
Salem-Panola Library, 5137 Salem Road, Lithonia.
Tucker–Reid H. Cofer Library, 5234 Lavista Road, Tucker.

Among those early voting locations, Berean Christian Church, Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, DeKalb VRE Office, Dunwoody Library, Salem-Panola Library, and Tucker-Reid H. Cofer Library will have official absentee ballot drop boxes. Voters can request an absentee ballot now through Oct. 24, according to VRE officials.

Voters are also encouraged by VRE officials to mark their calendars with the following key dates:

6, voter registration deadline.
14 through Oct. 31, early voting period.
4, Election Day.

Keisha Smith, director of DeKalb VRE, urged residents to make their voting plans now. “Whether you choose to vote early, cast your ballot on Election Day, or use an absentee ballot, planning ahead ensures your voice is heard,” said Smith. “We encourage voters to get familiar with the early voting locations and designated drop box sites so they can participate with confidence and ease.”
