Early voting locations expanded

DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections (DeKalb VRE) has added two locations to the roster which will be available for advanced voting for the Nov. 3 General Election.

The expansion means 22 locations will be open to voters wanting to cast their ballots early throughout DeKalb County. Advanced voting will take place Oct. 13 through Oct. 30.

“The DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections previously approved 20 early voting locations during its July meeting. Following continued planning and an August stakeholder engagement meeting focused on voting access and expansion, two additional locations were added in Tucker and Stone Mountain,” explained a press release from DeKalb VRE.

Advanced voting locations are as follows:

• Berean Christian Church, 2201 Young Road, Stone Mountain
• Bessie Branham Recreation Center, 2051 Delano Drive NE, Atlanta
• Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, 2340 Clifton Springs Road, Decatur
• Briarwood Recreation Center, 2235 Briarwood Way NE, Atlanta
• Clarkston Library, 951 North Indian Creek Drive, Clarkston
• County Line-Ellenwood Library, 4331 River Road, Ellenwood
• DeKalb VRE Office, 4380 Memorial Drive, Suite 500, Decatur

Times and dates when advanced voting will be available at these locations are:

• Weekdays, Oct. 13-30 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Saturdays, Oct. 17 and Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Sundays, Oct. 18 and Oct. 25 from noon to 6 p.m.

DeKalb VRE officials stated the two new locations that were recently added to the early voting list, Living Grace Lutheran Church and Wade Walker Park Family YMCA, will be open on weekdays only from Oct. 26 to Oct. 30.

Berean Christian Church, Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, DeKalb VRE Office, Dunwoody Library, Salem-Panola Library, and Tucker Library will be accepting absentee ballots. Drop boxes will be available inside during voting hours.

“Expanding to 22 early voting locations reflects our commitment to listening to the community and making the voting process as accessible and convenient as possible,” said DeKalb VRE Director Keisha L. Smith. “These additional sites give voters more choices during the final week of early voting and support our broader goal of ensuring every eligible DeKalb County voter has the information and access needed to cast their ballot with confidence.”

Officials are also encouraging the public to confirm their voter registration status, review sample ballots, and find additional election information before visiting an early voting location.
