Easter events coming up throughout DeKalb

The Easter Bunny is on his way and cities in DeKalb are preparing for his arrival with family-friendly events and activities. Check out how these municipalities, churches and groups are celebrating Easter:

Avondale Estates
Join Gospel Hope Church for a Community Easter Egg Hunt at the Town Green on March 30 from 10 a.m. to noon.
Families can take part in an egg hunt for children ages 1 through 10, bounce houses, storytelling, face painting, balloon animals, games, food, and other family friendly activities.

Brookhaven
Peter Rabbit is going to Brookhaven on March 30 for three Easter egg hunts at Blackburn Park, located at 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road in Brookhaven. The egg hunts will be held as follows:
• Eggstraordinary Easter Egg Hunt, 10–11 a.m.
Brookhaven’s special needs egg hunt will use magnetic eggs, and other sensory-sensitive activities specially tailored to youngsters with physical limitations. This event will be wheelchair accessible.
• Easter Egg Scramble, 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m.
Easter Egg hunts will be split into age groups (3 and younger; 4-6; and 7 and older), with separate areas for each. The Easter Bunny will be on hand again to pose for photos.
• Dog-gone Egg Hunt, 12–1 p.m.
Brookhaven’s Dog-gone Easter Egg Hunt will be held at the Blackburn Park Softball Fields. The Dog Gone Easter Egg Hunt is for all residents and their pets. Specially prepared Easter eggs containing pet treats will be hidden.

Decatur
First Baptist Church’s annual Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 10 a.m. on March 30 at 308 Clairemont Avenue in Decatur. There will be egg hunts for three different age groups, plus a popup market and a special appearance by the Easter Bunny.

Doraville
The city of Doraville will host the Eggcellent Adventure at Honeysuckle Park, located at 3037 Pleasant Valley Drive in Doraville on March 30 starting at 9:30 a.m. The event includes two egg hunts, games, prizes, and free photos with “Mr. Bunny and Peter Cottontail,” according to a news release.

Dunwoody
Dunwoody Baptist Church is holding its second annual Easter Egg Hunt starting at 10 a.m. on March 30. Kids in preschool through fifth grade can hunt from more than 12,000 eggs on the sports center field, located at 1445 Mount Vernon Road in Dunwoody.

Scottdale
All ages are invited to join Friends of Needham Park for an Easter egg hunt and picnic on March 30. The event will begin at 11 a.m. at the park, located at 756 McLendon Drive in Scottdale.

Stonecrest
Officials with the city of Stonecrest have partnered with Transforming Faith Church to invite families to participate in the return of the Stonecrest Easter Egg Drop on March 30.
Festivities begin at 10 a.m. and the event will include games, crafts, frozen treats, and pictures with the Easter Bunny. Helicopters will drop eggs until 1 p.m.
The event is scheduled for the Southeast Athletic Complex located at 5845 Hillvale Road in Stonecrest. Visit stonecrestga.gov for more information.

Stone Mountain
Get ready for a fun-filled day of hunting for Easter eggs and winning prizes at the KIDSPLUGENT Easter Egg Hunt/Giveaway event.
Join participants at Wade Walker Park at 2 p.m. on March 30 for Easter eggs and giveaways. In addition to an Easter egg hunt, the event will also include raffles, free food, live performances, and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny.
