Family asks for help finding missing Tucker icon

A Tucker High School athletics icon has been reported as missing, and his friends and family are asking for the community’s help to bring him home safely.

Jimmy King, also known as Coach Bud, was reportedly last seen at Applebee’s on Lawrenceville Highway in Tucker on Feb. 24. King is known for his support of Tucker’s sports teams and is regularly seen on the sidelines at athletic events. Friends of King said that his disappearance is not normal behavior for him.

According to a Facebook event created by King’s friends and family, King is mentally disabled, and the police have been notified that he’s missing.

A search party is being conducted by the Facebook group; community members interested in joining are urged to meet at Applebee’s at 4353 Lawrenceville Highway on Feb. 29 at 4 p.m. and to follow the “Find Bud/Jimmy King” Facebook group for updates.

Anyone with information is asked to contact King’s brother Jerry King at 770-710-4854.
