Italian bakery is the newest addition to mixed-use High Street complex
The “Rosetta” is a specific type of bread known in various countries “and probably the most recognizable bread in Italy,” according to the Rosetta Italian Bakery website, which states that the bread “encompasses a mix of values, tradition, and history.”
The bakery, which its website states was intended as “an official ambassador of the Italian art of baking,” is now available at a new location. In late January, the newest Rosetta Italian Bakery opened in Dunwoody’s High Street mixed-use community. This marks the bakery’s second location in Atlanta, further expanding its footprint in the metro area.
The first Rosetta Italian Bakery opened in Miami, Florida, in 2015. It has since opened shops in other Florida cities, New Jersey, and New York. Its first Atlanta area location was in Buckhead.
The Rosetta Italian Bakery website tells the story of a family living in a small, humble house in the Italian countryside. A mill worker, Rosetta, the sister of five younger brothers, returned from work each day and prepared a special bread to be divided among the brothers, teaching them the joy and importance of sharing. One of the brothers, the website states, honored his childhood memories by establishing a bakery that incorporated the family tradition.
Like the other Rosetta Italian Bakery shops, the High Street location features a “live menu” of fresh products continually baked in a kitchen behind a glass wall that allows people to “not only be customers, but also the audience of an unexpected show.”
“We’re so proud to open our doors at High Street and introduce our Italian-inspired bakery to Atlanta’s Perimeter,” said Carolina Rosini, a partner at Rosetta Bakery. “At Rosetta, we believe in creating spaces where people can connect over food made with care and intention, and High Street is the ideal setting for that.”
Described by the bakery as having a “cozy warm atmosphere and authentic Italian fare,” Rosetta Bakery features artisanal coffee, signature bombolone—an Italian filled doughnut—and a variety of pastries made by hand every morning starting at 5 a.m., along with other desserts. There also are savory items, including croissants, focaccia—a flat bread flavored with herbs—sandwiches and pizza. Another signature item, according to the website, its King Rosetta sandwich, filled with meats, cheese, lettuce and tomato and described as “large enough to share.”
The Rosetta website says the offerings are made with “the highest quality ingredients exclusively made in Italy and timeless traditions.”
Located along The Green, High Street’s event plaza, Rosetta Bakery features indoor and outdoor seating, including a covered patio.
“Over the past year, High Street has quickly become a go-to place for people to meet, dine and unwind, and Rosetta Bakery adds even more flavor to that experience,” said Amari Holmes, High Street’s marketing manager. “With its welcoming atmosphere and focus on quality, it’s the kind of concept that perfectly fits the spirit of High Street: approachable, elevated and full of energy.”
Rosetta Bakery officials said they also plan to partner with local food banks to donate unsold goods as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting the community.
Rosetta Bakery joins a growing collection of restaurants and retailers at High Street, which developers say has become a hub for community events and seasonal programming, with a full lineup of activities throughout the year. High Street is a multi-phased, $2 billionmixed-use destination located at Perimeter Center Parkway and Hammond Drive.
