Mother-daughter founded pet boutique opens its first brick-and-mortar store
At the June 13 grand opening of PVO Pet Collective, a shop in the retail area of The Hanover, an Edgewood mixed-use development, customers—many accompanied by their furry household members—browsed through a curated collection of products designed for pampered pets.
Edgewood is one of several Atlanta-in-DeKalb neighborhoods known collectively as East Atlanta.
PVO Pet Collective on Mayson Avenue is the newly opened brick-and-mortar version of a business started online more than a year ago by mother-daughter business partners Jackie and Charme Carr. The duo created a homemade dog treat business in early 2025 before expanding into an online boutique and bakery that would also host pop-up events across Atlanta.
The partners say their business is “grounded in the belief that every pup deserves the best — whether it’s a tasty locally crafted dog treat, a relaxing spa day, or a fun day out with their favorite humans,” adding, “The pet-friendly experience provides a welcoming space where pets and their people can enjoy high-quality, thoughtfully crafted experiences, services, and goods together.”
“We designed it to be a place fueled by ‘pawsitive’ vibes only,” Jackie said.
“We designed PVO Pet Collective to feel more like a boutique and definitely not your typical ‘pet store,’” Jackie continued. “It’s a spot where you can reset for a minute, grab a homemade dog treat for your best friend or matching outfits for a night on the town, and actually treat your pups like the family members they are.”
Noting that they have “an obvious passion for pets,” the business owners say in their announcement of the new shop, “The brick-and-mortar store takes this love to a whole new level, offering more than treats—although they are hard to deny and look tasty enough for any dog mom or dog dad to eat.”
The retail shop offers a wide variety of merchandise, including treat pouches, plush toys, leashes, beds, mugs, outfits and other stock that they describe as “premium pet products that are likely to catch your pup’s attention.”
Pet fanciers can celebrate their love for sports with a FIFA World Cup dog jersey, scarf or flying disc toy, a Falcons tug bone, a Braves scarf, a Georgia Bulldogs bandana, and other sports-themed products.
While dogs are the primary focus, there also are products for cats such as waterless foaming organic cat shampoo and cat harness and leash sets.
“Whenever possible, we buy our merchandise from community makers, independent artisans, and local entrepreneurs,” Jackie said, adding that approximately 80 percent of the store’s merchandise comes from small family-run and minority-owned businesses. “We buy from national manufacturers only when what we need isn’t available from local or small businesses.”
Being “lifelong dog moms and pet lovers” themselves, the business owners say, helps them understand the needs of others who share their passion. “Often multi-dog households have dogs of different sizes, ages and breeds that have very different needs,” Jackie explained. “We wanted people to be able to shop for all their furry family members in one place.”
PVO Pet Collective also offers spa services and a bookable pet-friendly photo studio that offers seasonal and themed backdrops. Patrons may bring their own photographers or book a themed session. Additionally, there is space for dog-friendly gatherings, educational classes, mixers, and community events, including an outdoor patio for pups and their humans to relax and socialize, according to the PVO Pet Collective website.
“PVO Pet Collective is a living space that goes beyond a boutique and encourages people to come together to build a community for pets and their people,” the owners said in their announcement.
