Moving company kicks off third annual campaign to help local canines and cats
A national moving company with locations in Chamblee, Dunwoody, and Tucker is hoping to haul boxes full of donations for two local pet rescue nonprofits.
From now through Nov. 19, local Two Men and a Truck of DeKalb County is hosting its third annual Movers for Mutts donation drive. Through this community-driven campaign, officials for Two Men and Truck said they hope to raise more than $700 and collect at least 2,500 pet items to donate to LifeLine Animal Project, Georgia’s largest animal welfare organization, located in Chamblee; and Ruff Redemption Rescue, a Woodstock-based nonprofit that also helps pets in the Atlanta area.
Officials with Two Men and a Truck said they need donations of the following:
- Pet food
- Blankets
- Cleaning supplies
- Pet toys
- Treats
- Collars
- Leashes
- Monetary donations
Anyone can drop off donations for dogs and cats at Two Men and Truck’s DeKalb County locations which include:
- 3127 Presidential Drive in Chamblee
- 1 Dunwoody Park #205 in Dunwoody
- 5151 South Royal Atlanta Drive in Tucker
“As someone who’s always had a passion for pets, Movers for Mutts is a campaign that truly speaks to me,” said Alison MacNeish, accounting and administrative manager at Two Men and a Truck in the Atlanta area. “It’s about giving back and helping the animals who give us so much love. I recently had the chance to visit with some of the pups (at LifeLine Animal Project) and give them a fun enrichment session using donated tennis balls—which was just as rewarding for me as it was for them.”
As part of the Movers for Mutts campaign, MacNeish said Two Men and Truck hosted a Paint your Pet night on Nov. 9 at Painting with a Twist, located at 1230 Caroline St. NE, #240 in Atlanta. Each $58 fee for participants was donated to LifeLine Animal Project.
“The fun will continue on Nov. 15 when Moondog Pub and Grub in Chamblee will host a charity day where a portion of sales will be donated to Movers for Mutts for anyone who mentions the campaign,” continued MacNeish.
