New dining, shopping options come to Perimeter Mall
Two businesses, both with European influence, in August joined the more than 170 establishments that make up Perimeter Mall.
Perimeter Mall now has a restaurant that John Liu, the mall’s marketing manager, said “brings a British flavor to our existing assortment of restaurants.” The Pub Perimeter, where servers—male and female—wear plaid kilts, offers what owners call “a true British Pub experience.”
That experience starts even before diners enter as the exterior, with Union Jacks waving in the breeze, is modeled after the classic corner pubs of London. The interior design features furniture and accessories shipped over from the United Kingdom with a handcrafted bar as the centerpiece.
At the bar are features servers seem eager to point out. There’s a “pour your own beer wall,” that allows customers to pull their own draughts and pay by the ounce from a selection of more than 25 British, European and American beers. The bar is also home to a wide variety of whiskeys, including 18 varieties of single malt scotch, served from optic pourers that are part of an inverted pouring system that originated in Europe.

“In true pub fashion, the glassware varies from beer to beer, each with its own unique glass, allowing guests to properly savor their favorite brew. Such details give The Pub a genuine ambience not found in many Americanized pub concepts,” states an announcement from the business.
Its signature dish is that British standard fish and chips, which appears on the menu alongside other British Isle inspired offerings such as Scotch egg (a hardboiled egg wrapped in sausage and fried), bangers (sausages) and mash (potatoes) and shepherd’s pie. There are also items more familiar to American palates such as pub wings and classic hamburgers.
The Pub Perimeter, part of The Tavern Restaurant Group founded by Nick Sanders in 1973, is one of 12 The Pub restaurants in the United States and the first in Georgia.
The Swedish clothing store Hennes & Mauritz—or H&M—also opened its newest store in Perimeter Mall this month. The approximately 26,000-square-foot store features clothing for women, men and children from newborns to 14 years, including accessories, lingerie, sports apparel and a plus-size line.

H&M classifies itself as a “fast fashion” store. Fast fashion is a term used in the clothing retail business to describe the practice of moving quickly from the design phase to the manufacturing and sales phases to offer consumers current fashion trends at lower prices.
A spokesman for H&M said the company stands out for its commitment to environmentally friendly practices. Offering what it calls “sustainable fashion,” H&M states that it is the largest user of organic cotton in the world and is committed to using only organic and recycled cotton in all of its collections by 2020.
H&M also claims to be the first fashion company to roll out a global garment recycling program, designed to help save natural resources and contribute to a reduced environmental impact.
Customers are invited to donate old and unwanted pieces of clothing—any brand—when they visit the store.
Considered one of largest clothing businesses worldwide, H&M has more than 2,300 stores in 43 countries. Daniel Kulle, U.S. president for H&M, said, “Georgia continues to be a growing market for H&M.” The Perimeter Mall store is the third in the Atlanta area.
