Valentine’s Day events coming up

Those looking to celebrate all things love can check out these upcoming local Valentine’s Day events:

Brookhaven Park and Recreation’s annual Sweetheart Valentine’s Dance (formerly known as the Daddy-Daughter Dance) returns to Lynwood Park, located at 3360 Osborne Road NE, this year.
The dance takes place Feb. 18 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Lynwood Park Community Center. The price is $30 for the first parent/child, $10 for each additional child.
The event will include music, dancing, pictures to take home, and dinner. Registration is open until Feb. 16 or until the event is at capacity. Registration for the event is required. For more information and to register, visit

Decatur’s giant valentine will make its grand return to downtown Decatur from 5 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 14. Come strike a pose – silly, sweet, or sassy – at the Valentine’s Day pop-up photo op on The Square. The free event will also have roses, Maggie Lyon chocolates and music.

The Family Committee at Kingswood Church, located at 4896 North Peachtree Road in Dunwoody, will hold a family-friendly Valentine’s Day crafting event starting at 4:30 on Feb. 14.

The Stonecrest community is invited to partake in a Service of Love: Valentine’s Day Breakfast at the Parks and Recreation Center located at 5101 Browns Mill Road in Stonecrest. Starting at 9 a.m. on Feb. 14 attendees will be able to take pictures and have breakfast while mixing and mingling with each other and city staff members during this community-wide event. Tucker Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its sixth annual Senior Valentine’s Day lunch on Feb. 14 starting at noon at the Tucker Recreation Center located at 4898 Lavista Road.
Participants can take part in a catered meal and music while mingling with friends. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased online or at the Tucker Recreation Center.
