Stone Mountain group to host economic development meeting

“What Can Neighborhoods Do to Boost Economic Development?” is the topic of the March 14 meeting of a Stone Mountain group.

Pride Rings In Stone Mountain (PRISM) will host economic development forum at St. Timothy’s UMC at 5335 Memorial Drive, from 7-8:30 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss ways to promote the economic development of the Memorial Drive corridor.

The agenda is as follows: 7 p.m., welcome and announcements; 7:10 p.m., incentive overview by Charles Whatley, director of DeKalb County’s Department of Economic Development; 7:30 p.m., “Community Demographics: Who We are and What Do We Support,” by Mike Alexander, director of the Atlanta Regional Commission’s research division; 7:40 p.m., Shopping Center Development and Retail Marketing, by David Stogner, senior vice president of Selig Development Corp, owner of Stonemount Shopping center;  and 8 p.m., question and answer session.
